The event started off with the breathtaking collection of couture King Manish Malhotra inspired by the Persian designs with the title Persian Story!! He managed to take us back to the Persian rulers time. modern cuts with beautiful shades of maroon,blue and green. what grab my attention were the cuts and designs of blouses.
Fawad Khan and Deepika Paukone walked the ramp as a showstoppers for Manish Malhotra. Fawad looked like a Prince of Persia in a black long jacket with maroon tunic.Loved Deepika in this heavy gold embroidered red lehenga.
Beatuiful collection “The Last Dance Of The Courtesan” by Tarun Tahiliani. super glamours collection with crystals,pearls with mostly floral embroidery.here i would like to say something about the theme,it was all about rich nawabs visited kothas in old times to see the courtesans. male models wore Tarun’s cream nawabi collection as young nawabs while female models wore voluminous lengas, saris( drape style) hair bun with flowers on one side totally courtesan inspired look.( loved the theme more than collection)
Showcased her beautiful collection Epic Love. Bright collection with luxury bohemian feel for young brides.prints are inspired by Mughal era (floral prints) we are in love with the color palette of this collection! purple,blue,rust beautiful shades of red. Dabka and gotta patti is used in this Ethnic collection.
Kamangiri by Reynu Taandon inspired by Rajastani rich heritage. beautiful color palette of red,gold, green and orange with block prints and handcrafted foil printing.
Divya Khosla walked the ramp for Reynu Taandon. loving her small plain blouse with heavily embroidered lehenga with gotta work.her big nose ring and rajastani tikka is to die for.
RIMPLE HARPREET NARULA:
Titled “Hirayat”inspired by Khalil Gibran (writer) in which he shows us the transition from day to night in his color palette which went from beige to midnight blue. we are in love with this collection from the color palette to the beautiful embroidery every thing is just perfect. white with dull gold embroidery,royal red and blue with gold detailing has won our hearts.
Yami Gautam walked the ramp for Rimple Harpreet Narula. wearing this beautiful heavily embroidered royal blue lehenga but still looking so delicate and elegant.
Monsoon Diaries by Rahul Mishra. perfect collection for modern brides who don’t want to wear typical colors and embroidery.he used mostly organza and Georgette with natural earthy tones. entire collection is handmade and it took four months and 250 karigars to complete it.
Titled “When time stood still” very modern collection with 3D petals and the touch of traditional dori,pearl and zardosi work. loving the sharars and long structured jackets. not just the embroidery and cuts the color palette she used was fantastic too from ivory to pastels ,red and powerful black .(Jewelry by Amarpali jewels).
Vintage Garden by Varun Bahl. collection is inspired by colorful flowers, kept the flower motifs light weight which is looking like an art work.mostly pale pink,light blue, cream base and few red and black outfits.very delicate collection perfect for modern brides.(Jewelry by Khanna Jewellers).
Scape song by Gaurav Gupta.contemporary and futuristic collection with layers and ruffles .used vintage shades of grey, green,blue,pink.very modern and edgy collection for modern brides.
Begum-e-Jannat by Manav Gangwani inspired by Mughal Era. used a jewel color palette like ivory,black,navy blue,maroon and green. voluminous layered lehengas with beautiful embroidery. it was tribute to his Kashmir born late friend Zainab Nedou Patel
The Queen of bollywood Kangana Ranaut walked the ramp for Manav Gangwani collection. She looked like a true Mughal Queen in mirror work choli paired with heavily embroidered lehenga. beautiful jewelry is completing her Mughal Begum look.
Kehkashaan by Rohit Bal. the collection is inspired by Russian empire in Asia and East Europe. Rohit combined the Russian and Kashmiri designs and used rich velvet fabric with gold embroidery.capes and bejeweled collars are giving very royal look.( jewelry by Shiri Ram Hari Ram jewelers,they created handcrafted pieces for Rohit)
